In health care, protecting the public begins with the ability to respond to an emergency. Whether you are a nurse or midwife regulated by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council or a home-based caregiver, current CPR and first-aid skills are part of what the role expects. Here is what the Tanzanian framework requires, and how recognized, up-to-date, documented training meets it.

In Tanzania, nurses and midwives are regulated by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC), which ties renewal of the practising licence to continuing professional development. Registrants are required to accumulate CPD points and to keep their clinical skills current.

Being able to resuscitate and manage emergencies is part of a nurse's professional duty of care. Accredited active-learning activities are tracked through the TNMCIS platform, so documented, recognized training is the practical way to meet the requirement.

Tanzania operates a mandatory CPD-point system: registered nurses and midwives must earn 30 CPD points over three years to renew the practising licence, tracked through the TNMCIS platform. Accredited resuscitation/BLS training can count toward these points via a recognized provider.
