Exigences en RCR et secourisme pour les garderies

Si vous travaillez dans le domaine de la petite enfance au Tanzania — que ce soit en garderie, en prématernelle, en milieu familial ou en camp — la certification en secourisme et en RCR n’est pas optionnelle. C’est une exigence de permis, et pour cause : les enfants sont parmi les plus vulnérables à l’étouffement, aux réactions allergiques et aux blessures. Être préparé à intervenir peut tout changer.

Ce que le Tanzania exige

Tanzania's National Guidelines for the Establishment and Management of Day Care Centres (2020), together with the 2012 regulations and the Law of the Child Act, require at least one staff member trained in first aid to be on duty at all times, and expect every caregiver to know how to use the contents of the first-aid kit. This makes first-aid training a built-in condition of running a centre rather than an added extra. The rule reflects a simple reality: in a room full of small children, someone must always be ready to respond.

Anaphylaxie et administration de médicaments

The national guidelines allow only first-aid-trained staff to give medicines from the first-aid kit, along with doctor-prescribed or family-supplied medicine that is clearly labelled and stored out of children's reach, but they do not mention anaphylaxis or epinephrine directly. Auto-injectors are also hard to obtain in the region. The safest approach is therefore a caregiver who can recognise a severe allergic reaction early, call for emergency help, and give any authorised medication with parental consent.
